Fiber Art featuring synthetic dyes

chop-left-colJudy’s dying studio is filled with unique pieces of fiber art that includes one-of-a-kind hand dyed silk scarves with colorful and playful eye appeal, Nuno felted scarves and Japanese resist Shibori scarves. The needle and thread weaves through the fabrics creating Japanese resist shibori
wall hangings and felted machine embroidery framed wall pieces. There are also pieces of fabric called artcloth often used in commercial spaces and has layers of complex surface design that gives it depth and eye appeal. Her 2-D work also includes Rozome, Japanese batik. The emphasis of natural dyes is being developed in current work.
